The Webs We Weave - Michelle Morgan

While getting ready for a dinner party to celebrate their wedding anniversary Jenny's husband Craig casually announces that he's leaving her! Talk about timing! Needless to say Jenny is devasted, why hadn't she seen this coming?

Five years go by and Craig is now married to Helena but why is she knocking on Jenny's door after all this time? It turns out that a leopard really doesn't change its spots and Craig is cheating on her and she's looking for Jenny's help.

Jenny secretly still has a soft spot for her ex-husband so she decides to help - but will she be more of a hindrance than a help and does she have an ulterior motive?

I absolutely loved this book and was hooked from the very beginning. Michelle Morgan does a brilliant job of getting inside a vengeful woman's mind and I found myself chuckling away at Jenny's antics on more than one occasion - I'm not quite sure what that says about me, but I'd definitely want to stay on her good side! On the flip side of the coin, there's Helena - naive in her belief that Jenny would be willing to help her, no questions asked, when effectively she was the reason for the breakdown of Jenny and Craig's marriage all those years before.

The Webs We Weave is a cleverly written and intruiging tale of a woman scorned with a wonderful cast of characters. The plot weaves along at a great pace and I was thrown off guard more than once. It's one of those books that once started, you won't want to put down until the very last page.

This is Michelle's first fictional novel and I sincerely hope that there are more to come as she certainly knows how to tell a tale and I can't wait to read more of them.

With kind thanks to author Michelle Morgan for my review copy.
