Cover reveal - Spirited - Julie Cohen

Today I'm delighted to be a part of the cover reveal for Spirited by Julie Cohen. Julie is a 'new to me' author so I thought we could start things off by getting to know her together.

Julie Cohen grew up in Maine and studied English at Brown University, Cambridge University and the University of Reading. Her award-winning novels have sold over a million copies worldwide, and she has twice been selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club in the UK. Julie runs an oversubscribed literary consultancy which has helped many writers go on to be published. She is a Vice President of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, founder of the RNA Rainbow Chapter, and a Patron of literacy charity ABC To Read. Her bestselling novel TOGETHER has been translated into eleven languages and optioned for television adaptation; THE TWO LIVES OF LOUIS & LOUISE was long-listed for the Polari Prize and has been optioned by Enderby Entertainment as a feature film. Her first historical novel, SPIRITED, will be published in July 2020. She lives in Berkshire with her family and a terrier of dubious origin.

I have to say that I've taken a peek at Julie's other books and not only do they sound great, the covers are beautiful.  But let's get back to the matter in hand, which is of course her upcoming release, Spirited. Here's a brief synopsis for you all:

FAITH.
Viola has an impossible talent. Searching for meaning in her grief, she uses her photography to feel closer to her late father, taking solace from the skills he taught her—and to keep her distance from her husband. But her pictures seem to capture things invisible to the eye…

COURAGE.
Henriette is a celebrated spirit medium, carrying nothing but her secrets with her as she travels the country. When she meets Viola, a powerful connection sparks between them—but Victorian society is no place for reckless women.

LOVE.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, invisible threads join Viola and Henriette to another woman who lives in secrecy, hiding her dangerous act of rebellion in plain sight.

I think that this might be finding it's way onto my TBR list 😉

So now I think it's time to share the cover with you. I think it's another beautiful cover, but let's see what you all think.

Isn't it stunning? Just by looking at it I want to know who about the person that the boots belong to!

Spirited is out on the 9th of July and it's available to pre-order now here.

Cover reveal - Midtown Huckster - Leopold Borstinski

I can't tell you how excited I am to be taking part in the cover reveal for Midtown Huckster by Leopold Borstinski. If you're a regular visitor to my blog you'll know that I'm loving this particular series of books by Leopold and if you're looking to lose yourself in some great books while we're all under lockdown, then I'd highly recommend you check these out. You can read my reviews of the first two books The Bowery Slugger and East Side Hustler for more information and links.

Midtown Huckster is the third book in the series and here's the blurb for you all:

Can you keep your gelt and freedom when the cops have enough evidence to take you down?

1930s Jewish gangster, Alex Cohen runs Murder Inc for Lucky Luciano. After the death of Prohibition he must find a new way to make money, just as the cops are baying at his heels. When Luciano goes down for racketeering, Alex loses his protection and is arrested for tax evasion-he must decide between saving his skin and ratting out his friends.

If he chooses prison time then his gang will fall apart and he will end up with nothing. If he squeals then he will have to flee the city he loves and the family he once adored. What would you do in a world where nobody can be trusted and you have everything to lose?

The third book in the Alex Cohen series is an historical noir novel, which plunges you deep into the early days of narcotics trafficking and the Jewish New York mob. Leopold Borstinski's piercing crime fiction delivers a fix to every reader like heroin from a needle.

I think it sounds fabulous and I hope you agree. Before I show you the cover I'm sure you're curious to find out more about the author of these brilliant books.

Leopold Borstinski is an independent author whose past careers have included financial journalism, business management of financial software companies, consulting and product sales and marketing, as well as teaching.

There is nothing he likes better so he does as much nothing as he possibly can. He has travelled extensively in Europe and the US and has visited Asia on several occasions. Leopold holds a Philosophy degree and tries not to drop it too often.

He lives near London and is married with one wife, one child and no pets.

Ok, so I think I've made you wait long enough now, let's get down to what you're all here for . .  the cover reveal!

I think that it's an intriguing cover and one that I'm sure will capture the mood of the book. There's also a little teaser video to accompany it.

Midtown Huckster is being published by Sobriety Press on the 16th of July and you can pre-order your copy via the links below. The blog tour kicks off on Saturday the 18th. My stop is the following day so I hope that you'll come back to read my review.
