Books are one of the greatest passions in my life (if not ‘the’ greatest passion…) and I have been blogging about them for over three years. Meeting and interviewing authors has now also made me passionate about them.

I fully understand it's not just about the writing –a whole lot of work goes into the process and just because your book baby is published and out in the wild it doesn't mean you can sit back and relax... Far from it, the hard work is just about to begin! 

You need to spread the word about your fantastic new book, get it noticed, get reviews, put yourself out there. . . the list goes on and it can seem overwhelming.

The Haphazardous Hippo

Sitting with my coffee, chocolate close at hand

A new book yet un-opened, a day of reading is now planned

I look upon the cover it’s what calls me in

I draw in a deep breath and let the journey now begin

The turning of each page quickens as I read

The story is unfolding, fulfilling my every need

Reading is my passion it can set me free

It is such a big part of what makes me, Me

A part of being a bookworm is the sharing once then read

The retelling of the story I have now in my head

A sharing of my passion for others then to see

Reviewing story and author for bookworms just like me

With blog and social media, tweets and my reviews

I will give an insight share and spread the news

The Haphazardous Hippo is where to come and look

Get to know the author and read an excerpt from the book

And if you are an author come join me and let’s share

Together we will make all those bookworms be aware

And then with coffee and chocolate always close at hand

They can read your story just like you had always planned

I can manage calendar dates share blogs with many groups

We can spread the word share release dates with the troops

I will tell your story because to me it is a passion

Reading is for life you know, books will never be out of fashion
