What You Don't Know - Bianca Sloane

I'm a huge fan of Bianca Sloane's books so I was excited to hear that a new one was on the horizon.

What You Don't Know is a tense psychological thriller that will leave you gasping for breath! What starts off an a normal Saturday for the Gilbert family quickly spirals into a living nightmare with the simple ring of their doorbell.

The three people at the door are unknown to former NFL star Malcolm Gilbert, but they know all about him. They also know that his wife Blair used to be in a world famous girl band and that they have a teenage daughter called Farrah. Someone has sent them to this particular family and they don't want them to leave empty handed. Will these strangers get what they've been sent for and if so, at what cost to the Gilberts?

I've always thought that Bianca Sloane's books were edgy but she has defintely surpassed herself this time around. This terrifying tale takes place over the space of forty-eight hours and with the chapters alternating between the hostage situation and interviews with friends, family and police, it's more like a crime documentary. I don't think I've ever read a book written in this particular style before and I absolutely loved it as it made me feel closer and more connected to the Gilbert's.

This complex, tense and dark book will chill you to your very core. The story is truly horrifying, and somewhat graphic in places, but it's in no way gratuitous. Just when you think things can't get any worse Bianca Sloane ramps up the tension and this is exactly why I love her books, as I never know where they are going to take me.

What You Don't Know will definitely be in my list of top ten books of the year and I highly recommend that you add this little beauty to your TBR pile - along with every other book by this author!

With kind thanks to the author Bianca Sloane for my review copy.
